About Automated Curiosity

Hello! I’m Larry Grodinberg, the mind behind Automated Curiosity. If you’ve ever felt equal parts amazed and overwhelmed by AI breakthroughs, smart-home gadgets, and the rise of robotics, you’re in the right place.

Earlier this year I took the reins of Automated Curiosity, eager for a dedicated corner of the internet where I could document every late-night Arduino experiment, smart-home hack, and robotics rabbit hole I tumble into. By acquiring the site, I’ve turned what was once a dormant domain into an open lab notebook, one that invites anyone who’s equally fascinated by AI, home automation, and tomorrow’s tech to learn (and occasionally fail) right alongside me.

Why this site exists

Automated Curiosity was born out of a love for technology, automation, and robotics, and a simple belief that you don’t need a Ph.D. to follow (or shape) the future. I’m not an industry “guru,” just a hands-on learner who wanted a friendly space where complete beginners and curious tinkerers can explore:

  • AI concepts and tools that are already changing how we work and play.
  • Smart-home ideas that make daily life more efficient, secure, and fun.
  • Robotics trends, benefits, challenges, and projects that are reshaping society.
  • Step-by-step guides that turn intimidating tech into approachable weekend builds.

My own path has been pure kitchen-table tinkering, piecing together RadioShack robot kits in the late ’90s, teaching LEGO Mindstorms bricks to shuffle across the floor, soldering Arduino boards that blinked more than they computed, and wiring up small home automations like smart locks and DIY security cameras. None of it came from formal training; it was all trial, error, and late-night curiosity about how things work and what tomorrow’s devices might let us build.

Learning-disclaimer blurb

Heads-up: I’m a relentless hobbyist, not a certified engineer. The tutorials and articles on this website are shared in good faith from my own experiments, double-check datasheets, follow safety guidelines, and adapt steps to your specific hardware before flipping the power switch.
